EL2 - Director, Strategy and Transformation, Collaboration
  • Are you passionate about strategy development and/or business modelling in the government or collecting sectors?
  • Lead the design and development of the Collaboration Strategy and Transformation Program
  • Promote the Library’s strategic objectives by producing business modelling and data reporting to ensure the sustainability of the Library’s services

The National Library of Australia is seeking fill the important role of the Director, Strategy and Transformation, Collaboration Branch (EL2). You will be responsible for implementing the strategy to build collaborative, sustainable, evidence-based business models with the Library’s partners, commercial partners and the research infrastructure sector,

You will be instrumental in:

  • Developing, monitoring and reporting against relevant strategies for the Library’s collaboration and digitisation activities,
  • Producing business modelling to ensure ongoing sustainability for Library’s collaborative, joint investment services, and
  • Managing commercial engagement.

You will manage a small team to provide strategic direction to the Collaboration Branch assisting with the creation of business plans, complex and/or sensitive work programs, and monitoring workflow and performance. Some activities have strategic, political, and operational significance.

You will build, maintain and manager key strategic internal and external relationships by

  • Promoting the Library’s strategic objectives,
  • Supporting the development and management of internal collaboration services, and
  • Liaising with key corporate services including governance, data governance, finance and the program management office.

You will support a healthy and safe workplace environment and model ethical behaviour in line with the APS Code of Conduct and Values. You will promote these by undertaking change management, conflict resolution, coaching and managing the performance of your team and others.

You will design and develop the Collaboration Strategy and Transformation Program using advanced specialist knowledge of the Australian library, collecting and research sector. You will lead the development of business and commercial engagement models.

To be successful in this role, you must be experienced in strategy development, business modelling and/or program management in the government or collecting sectors.

It is desirable if you hold qualifications or equivalent experience in Arts, Humanities, Social Sciences, Business or Financial Management.
